The study desk
STUDY › DESK is the one place you study yourself. Today's focus and quests, your form and grades, every game you uploaded, your opponents, intel, openings, notes and progress, with the AI coach and a note composer beside whatever you are looking at.
The study desk is where you study yourself. The Stats lane is about everyone else (the rankings, the balance report, the maps); the desk is about you. Everything personal lives here: the numbers that used to be STATS › MY STATS, the game library, intel and coach that used to be the Command Console's Library tab, your notes, your quests and your achievements.
Open it from the Study lane (its DESK page; BUILDS is the other one), or from My stats and My games in your menu (the ME button at the top left). Every old link to MY STATS or the console's Library lands on the matching view here.
How it is laid out#
The desk is a workspace in three parts.
- The bar along the top: the world switch (SC2, plus a balance mod such as Patch Clash once you have games on one), matchup chips (All, then your matchups) on the views they filter, and your level, streak and quests at a glance.
- The index down the left: the views below, one on screen at a time, plus a Builds door that takes you to STUDY › BUILDS.
- The rail on the right: the AI coach and one note composer, both working on whatever the middle of the desk shows. On a smaller window the rail folds into a drawer behind the Coach and notes button; Esc closes it.
The world switch changes every view at once. In Patch Clash your form, games, opponents, intel and openings are your Patch Clash games only, never blended with SC2, and there are no grades (the mod re-prices units and timings, so SC2 rules and pro numbers would be nonsense there). Progress counts everything you do, whichever world is picked.
The views#
Today is where the desk opens: the one thing to work on right now, with the evidence ("seen in 4 of your last 6 TvP games") and the replay moment that proves it; your quests; the build you are practising; your games in that matchup, losses first, each with its turning point; anything else worth fixing; and this week. Any of those findings can become a daily quest with Accept quest. Today follows your focus, so the matchup chips do not apply to it.
Form is the performance graph (MMR, win rate and the grades over 48 hours to 28 days) with the window in numbers beside it: your record against the window before, streaks and your matchups. See The performance graph.
Grades splits your scores by what they are measured against, and says so: Against the pros (workers at 3:00 and 5:00, your natural, your third, next to the pro median with both samples shown), Against your plan (how closely each game followed your practice build, or the pro archetype it matched when you have none, 0 to 100, with 70 and up on plan), and By fixed rules (the macro, micro and scouting scores, which are rules, not a comparison with other players).
Games is every replay you uploaded, newest first, filterable by Wins, Losses and Casted and by the bar's matchup. A row opens the game in the viewer (a loss starts at its turning point) and carries its own controls:
- Download the file, or watch it in the StarCraft II client.
- Mark it as a game you casted or studied, so it leaves your stats, coaching and quests; press again to count it as yours. See Uploading replays, privacy, and ownership.
- Delete it, with a two-press confirm. Deleting removes the file, its analysis and its stats, and cannot be undone. A replay that is evidence for a competitive result (a tournament game, a ranked ladder game) shows a lock instead and says why.
The Upload replays button takes several files at once and shows its progress. Opening one of your own losses from the desk counts as a review for the study achievements (Quests, XP, streaks, and achievements).
Opponents lists your rivals (anyone you have played twice or more, recognised by their account rather than their name) and your recent one-off opponents. Each opens a dossier: your record and last five, what the site scouted about them, your notes on them, and every game against them.
Intel is the same idea for your Matchups, Maps and Builds (and Mods in a mod's world): cards to browse, each opening a dossier with your record, the notes filed on it and the games behind it. See Intel and notes.
Openings groups your games per matchup by your first three structures, then splits each group by the next three that decide the build, each line with its record.
Notes is every note you have written, newest first with pinned ones on top, searchable and filtered by what a note is about (an opponent, a matchup, a map, a build, a game, or nothing at all). Edit a note in place, pin it, or delete it with two presses.
Progress is your level and XP, the XP you earned this week, your streak, your quests cleared, and every achievement with its progress. See Quests, XP, streaks, and achievements.
The coach and the note composer#
The rail works on whatever is on screen. Open an opponent's dossier and the coach knows that is who you are asking about; open a game and it knows the game. Its Reads your notes switch lets it read your study notes when it answers. It costs what the coach always costs: the first five questions each day are free, then one vespene each (The AI coach). Signed out, the coach still answers from pro games, guides and game knowledge, but it sees nothing of yours.
The note composer files each note under what is on screen: written on an opponent's dossier it is tagged with that opponent, written on a game it carries that game, and written with nothing specific on screen it is a plain note in Notes. In the coach Enter sends, in the composer it saves, and Shift+Enter starts a new line in either. The conversation and your drafts survive switching views.
Quests on the desk#
Your daily and weekly quests show as a row of tiles on Today and on Progress (the same tiles as the Command Console's Home), and opening either view deals any you are owed. Press a tile and its full details open under the row: the target, your recent games against it, and Drop. Clearing quests pays vespene and XP; the rules are in Quests, XP, streaks, and achievements, the payouts in Vespene (the currency).
On a phone#
The STUDY screen shows today's focus, your quests, your practice build and your proof games, then a Your desk list: Games, Form, Grades, Opponents, Intel, Openings, Notes, Progress, and Coach and notes. Each opens full-screen.
