FAQ and troubleshooting
The questions that come up every week: missing stats, replays that will not report, overlays that will not draw, ranked gates, resets and clocks, and where features moved.
Working answers to the questions we actually get. If yours is not here, the bug reporter in the F10 console goes straight to the team.
Account and stats#
I uploaded games but my stats are empty. Almost always ownership: the site could not find one of your Battle.net accounts among the players in those replays. Link Battle.net (the console's Settings tab, "Claim your identity") and the classifier redoes its work. See Uploading replays, privacy, and ownership.
My winrate ignores some games I uploaded. Check the Games view on the study desk (the Casted filter lists them): games marked as casted or studied are excluded from stats on purpose. Press a row's casted toggle to flip a wrong call.
My league looks wrong. Where the site shows "~Diamond", the tilde means estimated from MMR. Blizzard assigns real leagues per region and season, so your in-game badge can differ.
My free coach prompts reset at a weird time. The daily 5 free prompts reset at midnight UTC. Streaks and quests use your local day and week. Two clocks, both intentional.
I stopped getting vespene for my uploads. On purpose: uploading a replay no longer pays by itself. Vespene comes from clearing quests, +5 for each daily and +25 for each weekly, and your uploads are what the quests count. See Vespene (the currency).
My quest is not moving. A quest counts games played after it was dealt (they are dealt when you open the study desk, the quests row on the console's Home tab, or the phone's STUDY screen), and only once a game has been uploaded and analysed. It counts your own games in the quest's matchup and world only: a game marked as casted never counts, and a Patch Clash game never counts toward an SC2 quest (or the other way round). A daily clears on 3 hits in any 5 games in a row, so one miss does not reset it. See Quests, XP, streaks, and achievements.
Uploads and replays#
A replay failed to upload. The Upload replays button on the study desk's Games view reports how many files were added and how many failed. Failed files are safe to re-drop; duplicates are skipped automatically.
The viewer looks less precise on one game than another. Games with HQ observation data play back ground-truth unit positions; games without it fall back to a simulator approximation while the pipeline catches up. Fresh uploads usually get the HQ pass shortly after landing. See The replay viewer.
A replay shows a PTR badge. Its build is newer than the current live patch the site tracks. It still plays; some patch-pinned analysis may sit out until the site's patch tables catch up.
Ranked#
The ranked ladder has its own full FAQ: Ranked ladder FAQ. The most common questions:
The queue button says I need something. The gates are literal: sign in, link Battle.net, verify an ID for each region you queue, pick a race and a server. The Companion is optional. The SETUP tab on the ranked screen shows exactly which one is missing. See Your first ranked match.
My finished game never reported. The replay is the report. With the Companion, the usual cause is that the replay folder for that account is not in its watched list (F10, "Watched replay folders"). Without it, open the match and press Upload replay / report. You get a reminder 20 minutes in, and the match voids after three hours if no result ever arrives. See Hosting, playing and reporting the result.
My opponent never showed up. If they never answered the match-found window, the match voids and you are requeued automatically with your wait time kept. No action needed. If they accepted but never arrived in SC2, use Opponent AFK? on the match screen. See Fair play: voids, strikes, AFK and disputes.
We got matched but could never find each other in SC2. Almost always a region mismatch: SC2's regions (Americas, Europe, Korea/Taiwan) are separate worlds, and Brazil / Singapore / Australia servers all play on Americas. Both players must log into the match server's region (the globe icon at the top right of the SC2 home screen). Then check you are both in the meet-up channel (/join patchessc). See the step-by-step in Your first ranked match.
The direct invite fails or says "player not found". Many accounts block invites from non-friends, an invite cannot reach someone sitting in another lobby, and their in-game name on that region can differ from the card. Use the host's /lobbylink in the meet-up channel instead; it works regardless.
What is the SKIN SET button in the lobby? Vanilla SC2 cosmetics (which collection skins units wear). Nothing to do with the mod, the ladder, or the result. Leave it on default.
Can I type in a result by hand? No; ranked results come from the replay only. If the auto-report did not land, open the match and press ⬆ Upload replay / report to submit the replay file yourself; the same verification runs.
Overlays and streaming#
The in-game overlay does not draw. StarCraft II must be in Windowed Fullscreen. No overlay tool can draw over exclusive fullscreen; this is an OS-level fact, not a setting we can change.
My OBS overlay went blank after I regenerated the URL. Regenerating rotates the token and kills the old URL. Paste the new one into the browser source.
The post-match recap did not pop. It requires the Companion (the upload is the trigger), and it ignores stale games: a replay that arrives long after the game ended is absorbed silently rather than shown late. The caster desk's HIDE ALL also suppresses it while active.
Where did it go?#
The Dashboard lane. Retired; the site has four lanes now. Your stats, performance graph, games, intel and the coach moved to the Study lane's desk; Overlay Studio is the console's Broadcast tab, and the Control Deck its Settings tab. Old /#dashboard links open the console's Home tab. See Where the Dashboard went.
STATS › MY STATS. Moved to the study desk: its Form, Grades and Openings are desk views of the same names, its Matches are the Games view and its Rivals the Opponents view. Old links land on the right view. See The study desk.
The console's Library tab (called Analysis before that). Moved to the study desk too: My games is the Games view, the intel is the Opponents and Intel views, and the coach sits in the desk's right-hand rail. The console now has four tabs: Home, Broadcast, Settings and Wiki. See The Command Console (F10).
The Notes vault tab. Retired as a standalone surface. Notes live on: replay note pins, auto review notes, and the study desk's Notes view are all live and searchable. See Intel and notes.
The Learn tab. Its build content merged into the Build tab; old links redirect.
"How it works". Superseded by this knowledge library.
When the site itself misbehaves#
After a deploy, a stale cached version can linger in rare cases. A hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R) fixes nearly everything cosmetic; signing out and in fixes nearly everything session-shaped. If a page is genuinely broken, the F10 bug reporter with a screenshot is the fastest route to a fix.
